Slower US inflation bodes well for France, says Asterès

The slowdown in US inflation was expected, but it turned out to be more marked than economists had anticipated: after 9.1% in June, inflation slowed to 8.5% in July, whereas economists were expecting 8.7% on average. According to Asterès, "the slight slowdown in inflation may bode well for France, as the United States is often ahead of European trends".
